Tarot believer or not… the way she describes the crossing, and meeting yourself where you are, and letting someone carry you for a while… this is worth a watch. Not my usual share on here. If it’s not for you, scroll away. But it might just be exactly what you needed today. 💜

You don’t have to have all the answers right now. You don’t even have to be very good at the thing. Every day is an opportunity to learn, and to begin again. Do the thing. You’re not going to be any less afraid, or more capable if you wait.

I went, and did the things. It was a whirlwind, and tons of information to try to absorb… and there is much more to go. But I’m home, and looking forward to seeing folks on the mat again tomorrow. Yoga will always be a place of balance for me, where I come back to myself. To my breath. To the moment, and existing in my body.

As a teacher - and I use that term loosely… because really, I’m just your yoga guide or facilitator - I have the unique opportunity to watch the folks who walk into the studio grow and change in their own lives. Their own paths, and how their practice changes with it.

Thank you for sharing your practice with me. For sharing space. For trusting me to guide you. I appreciate you.

Happy Saturday! (Sorry for the dog ears flapping in the background - just came back from the beach and he’s rolling around on the carpet lol)

I’m so excited to finally share that I’m beginning a new chapter as a real estate advisor with Engel & Völkers.

For me, this career is still very much about what has always mattered: people, relationships, and community. I love Yarmouth and Southwest Nova Scotia — our little towns and villages, our local businesses, our history, our coastline, and especially the people who make this place home.

As I step into real estate, I want to bring that same warmth and community-minded approach with me. To listen well, meet people where they are, and help make the process of buying or selling a home feel a little less overwhelming and a lot more human.

I’m really excited to see where this takes me, and I’m very happy to be starting this next chapter with Engel & Völkers.

I had the sweetest conversation with my esthetician today.

She was congratulating me on passing my real estate exam and reminding me that on the hard days — the days I inevitably wonder what the hell I’ve gotten myself into — to keep going.

And I turned it back on her.

Because she’s building something too. She recently stepped out on her own, and being your own boss can be wonderful and exciting and also really freaking hard.

So I told her that I believe in her. That I believe she’s going to make it through her hard days too.

And somewhere in that conversation I said something that is really at the heart of how I try to move through the world:

Community over competition.

There is room for all of us to succeed.

I believe that in business. I believe it especially when it comes to women supporting other women. And I believe it in yoga too.

I will happily send someone to another yoga teacher if what they’re looking for is something that teacher does beautifully. Someone else’s success doesn’t take anything away from mine. Their gifts don’t diminish mine. We don’t have to guard our little corners of the world so tightly.

We can recommend each other. Celebrate each other. Send people each other’s way. Say “I believe in you” and actually mean it.

There is enough room.

And I’d much rather build a bigger table than fight over a seat.

Happy Oct 1st, first day of spooky season! I often forget that black cats are considered spooky. Mine are too adorable to be considered anything else.
