Pet First Aid is a good course to learn life saving skills for animals also.
St John Ambulance and Red Cross both offer these courses

A B.C. man gave CPR to an otter pup and saved its life. 🦦

Alert Bay resident Gordon Mellish jumped into action after three young otters were found tangled in a fishing net on a dock off northern Vancouver Island.

One of the pups had stopped breathing, so Mellish cut it free, performed chest compressions and eventually gave it mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. The pup began breathing again and was taken to a wildlife rehabilitation facility.

After several days of treatment, the otter made a full recovery and was released back into the wild.
