On June 17, CMU invites you to Faspa on the Lawn, an outdoor party in support of our educational mission for friends and alumni of CMU. Join us for a warm, sunny evening by Assiniboine Castle for the joy of connecting with one another, tasty food, fun lawn games, and highlights of "CMU Education: What changes when you notice."

Meals will be provided at 6:00 PM, followed by a program and activities. Guests will be invited to make a one-time gift or a monthly contribution. Donations will go toward keeping tuition affordable and accessible for all students. Faspa on the Lawn is intended for community members of all ages.

Happy International Nurses Day! Today, we celebrate the compassion and hard work of nurses everywhere. One nurse we want to celebrate is Alumni Heidi Derksen (CMU '14), an ICU nurse in Saskatoon who has previously worked overseas in places such as Ukraine, Turkey and Albania on nursing contracts. Thank you to Heidi and for all nurses for your dedication in caring for us!

A new book by CMU Professor, Dr. Sheila Klassen-Wiebe launches May 4, 2026.

Longtime faculty member, Dr. Sheila Klassen-Wiebe, Associate Professor of New Testament, has been teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at CMU since 1993, helping students explore who Jesus was then and what it means to follow him now.

Part of the Believers Church Bible Commentary series, this volume offers a thoughtful and cohesive reading of the letter of James, demonstrating how its messaging speaks both to its original context and to life today.

Before taking The AI Revolution course, Elizabeth Schellenberg thought artificial intelligence began and ended with ChatGPT.

"Before the course, I absolutely thought AI was ChatGPT, full stop," she says. "Now I'm realizing the broader implications and how it penetrates every area of our lives."

This past winter, Dr. Tim Rogalsky, Associate Professor of Mathematics at CMU, taught a six-part course called The AI Revolution through the CMU Xplore exteneded education program. This course explored the uses and implications of artificial intelligence in everyday life.

The Xplore program at CMU offers courses designed for older individuals that examine the various dimensions of Christianity in the world today.
