C.C. Benison writes crime novels. Set in an idyllic village in rural England, the novels feature the Reverend Tom "Father" Christmas as the amateur sleuth.
Benison's ninth novel––a novella––The Unpleasantness at the Battle of Thornford (a Father Christmas mystery), was published in November 2020 and follows Twelve Drummers Drumming, Eleven Pipers Piping, and Ten Lords A'Leaping. Benison is also the author of the Her Majesty Investigates series (Death at Buckingham Palace, Death at Sandringham House, and Death at Windsor Castle) as well as two stand-alone novels, Paul is Dead, and Death in Cold Type.
