With the end of the semester approaching, we’re preparing to switch to our summer hours! Starting Thursday, April 23, we will be open 8:30am-5pm.

There will be no evening hours April 22nd.

It’s a winter wonderland outside, but it’s nice and cozy inside our library!

In an effort to reduce the number of missing books from our collection, the CMU Library will be implementing the medieval practice of chaining books to our library shelves. People are welcome to come and browse the collection, but all research will need to be done in the library!

It’s snowing right now and so I’m going to look at this photo to remind everyone that spring is almost here! Today is the last day of classes for students, with the exam season starting on April 9th. The library will be closed alongside the university April 3 to recognize Good Friday!

We welcomed Paul Doerksen’s Mennonite Literature and Theology class to the library this morning, where we talk about our 1685 Martyr’s Mirror (picture shown), the Rudy Wiebe collection, donated by Mennonite Brethren author Rudy Wiebe, and our 302 Amish Romance novels and their accompanying handwritten genealogies.

At CMU, we’re very lucky to have professors who have published a lot of academic and scholarly books! The new display highlights a few that are in our collection!

Marpeck Commons will be closed February 28th for some maintenance! There will be no library service that day. We’ll see you March 2nd!
