Arguably the most athletic hooper this province has seen in a long time, shares his "WHY" in choosing AP Baller for his physical preparation and development.

holds a different spot in my heart because of his growth throughout his years in high school, university and now pro.

With a training relationship that long, it's wild to not only witness the basketball development but also his transformation from child to an adult. Blessed to have had him and his parents trust in being an influence in his life. πŸ€œπŸ€›

🚨TESTIMONIAL ALERT🚨

Check out why one of Manitoba's best ever to play the game, comes to train with in the offseason!

Performance training is NOT optional, it is essential!

It is the difference between being good or being great. The endurance to last from tip off to the last second. The durability to play the 1st game of the season to the championship final. The resiliency to play an extended career from high school, college to pro.

Where do you want to be? That's up to you.

Next level requires next level strength.

We utilize as many muscle (groups) as possible when executing strength development exercises for basketball.

This row variation challenges the core differently than the traditional bentover row by lengthening the lever (moving the anchor hand away from centre mass). The further the anchor hand from the body, the more core tension that will be required to maintain a solid position.

Start close and then move away as you get stronger when doing this exercise.

working on basic deceleration - the other half of speed/agility and vertical jump training.

If you dissect the skill of vertical jumping or change of direction, you will see the importance of having deceleration control.

Deceleration control leads to easy accessibility to the stretch shortening cycle which powers your vertical or shiftiness. Without the ability to decelerate, there will be significant lag in energy exchange from loading to exploding. Furthermore, deceleration control minimizes the risk of catastrophic knee injuries (e.g. ACL).

NOTE: learn to decelerate in different planes for complete power development and motor control.

Got some things brewing...

Out of my element but love learning new things with respect to the business side of the company.

1st step development work using the hack squat machine.

For proper 1st step work, you must train in the specific joint angles for accelerating. Using the hack squat allows me to not only train in the specific joint angles but also within the recommended angle for accelerating (45-60 deg).

πŸ”‘ Mimicing the motor patterns of acceleration will only lead to improved performance on the court. This applies to all foundational movements of speed/power development (sprinting, jumping, etc.).

Additionally, moving with the intention of becoming more explosive is πŸ”‘ to 1st step development. Strengthening in the specific angles (moving for the purpose of strength) is only 1 ingredient to the whole athlete pie.

Let's get to work!πŸ€πŸ’ͺ🏽
