Promised Land’s main focus this week was on Venezuela and the continent of South America. Students worked on identifying South American flags, naming animals from the continent and learned about Venezuelan food. They ended the week by making a Venezuelan beverage called, Batido.

One of the most exciting parts of spring has been watching the baby birds hatch in their nest in our preschool yard! The children have been filled with wonder and curiosity as they observe the journey of the robins growing from tiny eggs to newly hatched baby birds. It has been such a special hands-on learning experience to talk about how the mother bird will care for her babies, bring them food, and keep them safe. The children have loved checking on them during outdoor time and learning about the life cycle of birds through real-life observation. It has already brought so much joy and excitement to our children! We can't wait to see what the rest of this journey has in store!

May was full of learning, laughter, and special memories in our Green Pastures. We explored the life cycle of frogs through miniature frogs and display cards. We had fun learning through circle time, art, songs, outdoor play and exploring sensory bin.

This week Grace Land started learning all about Bugs! Our seasonal shelf was changed over and had a variety of different bug activities! We started learning some of the different bug life cycles like the lifecycle of a butterfly, lady bug and ant! For our craft we made a firefly. This carried on into outside recess where we were busy looking for bugs!

We are excited to continue learning about bugs!

This week, Promised Land made use of the nice weather and had a lot of fun playing with the outdoor toys. They started gardening by planting carrots and beets. We have been very fortunate to have a Robin’s nest in our playground and Promised Land has been keeping a close eye on it trying their best to keep the eggs safe.

This week, Green Pastures enjoyed exploring nature and learning about plants, flowers, trees , the life cycle of frogs and different tools through circle time discussions, songs and hands-on activities. We practiced identifying tools such as hammers, wrenches and pliers while talking about how tools help people build and fix things safely. We identified different parts of plants and shared our ideas with friends. We enjoyed outdoor play, sensory experiences and creative art activities that supported our curiosity and social skills. It was wonderful to see everyone participating, learning and having fun together throughout the week.
