No matter how many miles you run away from all the trauma, underneath the sparkles your heart will always carry the scars. And from time to time you will look through and feel the silent scars co-existing inside along with all the newness. You might wonder, how could you let this happen! Why didn't you fight back? And then u would drown in self pity and regret. Certainly, your scars will never leave you. So its better to fight back sooner so that the scars are less deeper.
back/shout/argue/talk if anything feels wrong, it's never too late🫶🏼

Are you wondering what kind of statement of purpose would impress the admission committee of your desired school? I am going to provide some tips and suggestions to help you with that.
What most people do while writing an SOP is that they make a chronological autobiography without a logical connection between your life story and your aim to get admitted into the program. Remember, this is a statement of purpose, not a statement of history. So, the SOP will reflect your journey to make others understand who you’re, who you want to be, and why you are a perfect match for the program and that will make your SOP memorable in a timeless way.
In other words, it is your story where you will start stating your current position and your future goals. But you realized the obstacles to achieve those goals e.g., limited research opportunities in your home country, etc. And that’s the moment when you comprehended that you needed a position/degree in graduate school abroad. That graduate program will be the mentor for you to show you the way to achieve your desired goals. Then comes the logic behind choosing that specific program; why you think this is the right program for you and for your goal. And finally, why you are qualified for the program.
Let’s elaborate on this. There should be 4 sections in your SOP:
1. Introductory paragraph: This is the part where you met the obstacles and realized that you need to apply for the graduate program to achieve your goals. First, you will tell the quick story of how you came to be where you’re right now. You can introduce some touching moments of reflection in your life. Remember, this is not the paragraph of generalities about how you’ve always been interested in a specific area of research. Rather, it should tell of a specific time and place, and show you experiencing a troubling moment where you realize that you NEED a mentor to accomplish your goals. It probably shouldn’t be too dramatic, but it should contain all of the above elements, even if only briefly.
2. Why this program: Here, you will explain why this unique program is the right mentor for you and your goal. This section of 1-2 paragraphs details how your chosen graduate PROGRAM will help you resolve the conflict from Section 1. It will list all of the wonderful details about the PROGRAM that make it unique and better for you than other PROGRAMS. These details will be specifically related to you obtaining your ultimate goal. Please, please note that I’m capitalizing “program” and not writing “graduate school” in general. To convince your mentor to take you as an apprentice, you need to show them that you’re a worthy investment of their time. Do you think MIT will take a student who just needs a general education in computer science (one that they could get from any university, or even online for free)? Not a chance! They’re looking for a student who has studied every possible nuance of their unique Computation for Design and Optimization program. They want students who already know which classes they’ll take, which professors they’ll work with, and what topic they’ll pursue in their capstone project. These are the details that will convince the university that you’re going to be a 100% guaranteed success.
3. Why You’re Qualified: Here you will explain why you’re qualified to receive a mentor’s guidance. This section will take 1-2 paragraphs, or 3 if you’re a Ph.D. applicant who needs to explain some previous research experience. Basically, you’re showing how you’ve prepared for this great challenge by working your butt off in undergrad, or in your career, earning excellent grades, professional honors, etc. It’s a CV, of sorts. But don’t make the terrible mistake of listing every tiny detail. Save that for your actual CV. Trust me, they’ll find it. Instead, focus only on the most relevant highlights from your career thus far. Primarily discuss the obstacles you’ve conquered, those which prove you’re ready to succeed in this great new journey. Also, stay relevant. If you’re applying to a program in Biological Science, don’t talk about your impressive honors in debate competition, or your track record fighting for the rights of some social issues. Instead, focus on your excellent Biology-major GPA, the extra graduate-level courses you took, and your research experience in a specific project. And please refrain from explaining what the technical terms in your project mean. They’re the professors in that field. They know. Don’t try to teach your teachers. Only show them that you’ve worked hard in the past and that you’re ready to work even harder in the future.
4. Closing statements: This part will have the firm declaration that MENTOR’S guidance and your hard work will allow you to conquer all challenges and give their MAGICAL GIFT to the world. In this section, you’ll briefly (BRIEFLY!) return to the frame narrative from Section 1. One sentence, that’s all. Then you’ll affirm that if they offer you admission, you’re going to work hard to make them proud so that you can then move on to face real-life challenges, conquer your career, and in the end, make the world just a tiny bit better.
