Since 2015 only 14 of the 94 Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action have been fully completed.

Since 2019 only 2 of the 231 Calls for Justice from the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls have been fully completed.

I realize that systemic changes take time to implement but do they take this much time to implement especially when it comes to the wellbeing and lives of Indigenous Peoples?

If these calls to action and calls to justice affected your people’s and your communities would you want help to come more quickly?

Systemic changes from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report and the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Reports should be actioned as quickly as possible.

This is where true reconciliation takes place and actions that increase the safety and wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples and saves Indigenous lives should be of the utmost importance, period.

The late Senator Murray Sinclair said that “education got us into this mess and education will get us out of it." referencing the forced abductions, forced transportation, and forced enrolment of innocent First Nations children into the residential schools system got us into this mess and the mainstream education system across the country now has the potential to get us out of it; more pressure needs to be applied federal, provincial, and territorial governments and politicians to add the true history of residential schools and the other injustices and human rights violations perpetrated by the federal government against First Nations Peoples throughout history to our national education system age appropriately from K-12, post secondary, and professional colleges throughout the country. 🪶🧡📚

The Debwewin “My Truth” E-Learning for Indigenous Cultural Competency and Safety Training is not facts and figures, it is not simply voice overlay in images, and most importantly it is not just another tired educational training delivered in an old medium.

The Debwewin “My Truth” E-Learning for Indigenous Cultural Competency and Safety Training is a passion project intended to change the world for the better for First Nations Peoples, it is a heartfelt telling of the story of the history and it’s connections to the current realities for First Nations Peoples, it is a series honest and sincere educational videos delivered from my lived experience as a First Nations person who survived the reserve system, and most importantly it is real and it is from the heart and it is meant to change the hearts and minds of the viewers.

If your organization wants an experience rather than just another training, if your organization is committed to advancing true reconciliation, and if you organization truly wants your to change your employees hearts and minds then I think the Debwewin “My Truth” E-Learning for Indigenous Cultural Competency and Safety Training is for you!

First Nations Peoples traditional territories should be recognized and returned across Turtle Island (what is now known as Canada) and compensation for all activities performed on these traditional territories should be provided to First Nations Peoples. If you are going to steal the lands and resources you should at least share the wealth with the original caretakers of these traditional territories. Land back for First Nations Peoples is the ideal way forward.
