A reminder that the first day of school is TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 8.

Staff will be in all next week, working hard to get everything ready.

As we look back at some great memories from last year, we’re very thankful for our staff, families and community — and excited to make this our best year yet.

One small way to get a head start is to gradually nudge bedtimes back toward a school schedule over the next week.

What a great way to end the school year!

Miigwech to our Board of Trustees members, Neyaashiinigmiing Police, and the Chippewas of Nawash Fire Department for joining us today and helping give our students such a special send-off. Thank you as well for the treat bags — they were a big hit!

We are proud of our students for finishing the year so well, and grateful to our staff for all of their work right to the very end.

A quick reminder that tomorrow is a PA Day, so there is no school for students.

Congratulations to our Grade 8 graduates!

We are very proud of this group and all they have accomplished during their time at KES. They had a great evening together in Sauble on Tuesday night, and last night we were able to celebrate them properly at their graduation ceremony at Cozy Cats.

It was wonderful to see our graduates recognized by their families, staff, and community. We are proud of the students they are, the growth they have shown, and the people they are becoming.

Miigwech to everyone who helped make these celebrations special.

Congratulations, Grade 8s! We will miss you, and we are excited to see what comes next for each of you.

Unfortunately we are cancelling the bike bus today due to forecasted rain and thunderstorms. However, we hope to have our fire and police services on hand at the end of the day to do a grand send off!

Congratulations to our Grade 7/8 class on becoming published authors!

Our students recently worked with author and publisher Michael Pietrobon from Foglio Publishing to learn about writing, editing, book design, printing, publishing, and the many steps it takes to bring a book from an idea to a finished product.

This was a great chance for students to see that writing can lead in many different directions — author, editor, designer, publisher, entrepreneur, and more. Most importantly, it helped show them that their ideas and voices matter.

We are proud of our students for taking on this challenge, learning something new, and expanding their horizons. Experiences like this help ignite passion and open doors to future possibilities.
