Biography:
My name is Jeffrey Hoben and I reside in Whitby with my wife, Kim, two kids, Liam and Riley, and dog Wyatt. I have been a Whitby resident since 2003 and have had the pleasure to see our Catholic community prosper and grow. I’m a Quality Systems Manager in a local small business for almost 20 years. I have previous experience working for the Toronto Police Services as a Court Officer and volunteer Auxiliary Police Officer. Having attended York University for Kinesiology then Completing the Industrial Microbiology program at Centennial College, I changed professions to apply my expertise in the medical field. I’m also a devout practicing Catholic who consistently attends weekly Mass services and an active member in the community. Leo’s Council Brooklin-11528) for the past 11 years, I’m involved in fundraising for various charitable organizations. I’m well informed with the School and Parish community as my wife Kim is the Parent Council, Parish Rep for St. John Paul II in Brooklin. Platform:
I aspire to be your advocate and representation within our Catholic community to strengthen the home, school, and parish partnership. I want to help ensure the development of policies and procedures inspired by the values and traditions of the Catholic faith and encourage the continuation of religious education programs and faith formation activities for students. As a parent of a special needs child, I’m very aware of the additional support, Individual Education Plan (IEP) and the related material required to ensure your child receives the best inclusive education possible. I’m eager to listen to parental concerns, especially those pertaining to Board policy and to bring forward the community’s perspective prior to a corporate Board decision. I am also very empathetic to the impact and changes that COVID has taken on our education system the mental health of our teachers, staff, and students. I’m committed to helping our youth adapt to these changes and prepare them for the challenges which lay ahead.
