At Rae of Sunshine Day Home Agency, we’re all about getting outdoors, soaking up the sunshine, and being an active part of our communities.

This summer, we challenged our educators to spend 140 hours outside with their day home children while completing 8 fun outdoor activities designed to spark learning, curiosity, and plenty of smiles along the way.

From community walks and cloud watching to nature treasure hunts and kindness rock painting, every activity encourages children to explore, connect, and learn through play because some of the best childhood memories are made outside.

Any day home that completes the challenge will celebrate with a fully paid pizza party and sundae party to wrap up an amazing summer together. After all, what better way to celebrate a summer full of sunshine, laughter, and adventure than with pizza, ice cream, and happy kiddos? ☀️🍕🍨

As many of you have likely heard, recent changes to Alberta’s child care funding mean that licensed agencies are now limited in the number of additional spaces they can add under their licences.

If you’ve been thinking about opening a family day home, now may be the time to explore partnering with a licensed agency. If you’re already operating, it may also be a good opportunity to reflect on whether your current agency relationship is still the right fit for you and your program.

At Rae of Sunshine, we’ve always believed that agency support should be more than paperwork and monitoring visits. It should feel like having someone in your corner. Someone to celebrate the wins with, help navigate the hard days, answer the questions, and advocate for both educators and the families they serve.

As many of you have likely heard, Alberta recently announced that no new Affordability Grant contracts will be issued, and existing agencies are limited in how many additional spaces they can add.

For families currently enrolled in approved programs, there is no immediate change to your access to the Affordability Grant.

However, these changes may make it more challenging for families seeking care to secure spaces in licensed family day homes as demand continues to grow.

At Rae of Sunshine, we remain committed to supporting families, advocating for family day homes, and working alongside our educators to provide quality, affordable child care in our communities.

Rae of Sunshine is heading to the races this weekend! 🏁☀️

Hey race fans!

We’re calling all fans to the stands this weekend! Message us to grab your FREE tickets to help us pack the stands! The best part?! It’s a friendly, competition between the drivers to see who can bring the biggest crowd!

For the first time ever, Bushnell Racing will have TWO cars competing in the Thunder Car class. Come cheer on #33 and #36 as they hit the track together again.

It’s also Driver Autograph Night, and we’ve put together some fun goodie bags for the kids that include treats, autographs, and a few surprises.

Wetaskiwin Area Families & Future Educators

As Rae of Sunshine Day Home Agency continues to grow, so does our waitlist of families looking for care. We currently have families actively seeking child care through our agency and are looking to connect with individuals who may be interested in opening a family day home in the Wetaskiwin area.
