WUSA Food Support Service

WUSA Food Support Service The Food Support Service is a WUSA student-run, non-profit service that provides food hampers to any UWaterloo students experiencing food insecurity.

The Food Support Service is a Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA) student-run service. Its main function is to provide confidential assistance to undergraduate students experiencing food insecurity. The main way we provide support to students is through providing food hampers (meat and vegetarian options available) to students at a variety of locations across campus (see below for locations). Additionally, we run unique projects and events to raise awareness of hunger problems and to raise food for in-need groups in the local community. Volunteering for the WUSA Food Support Service is a great way to help the community, meet other students, and gain experience and references for your resume. Are you interested in joining the WUSA Food Support Service? Please contact us by email at [email protected]. Food Hamper Pick-Up Locations:

• SLC Turnkey: Located in the Student Life Centre (Currently open Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 7 pm)

Please note: Hamper pick-up locations are currently limited due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Want to donate? Currently all donations should be brought to the lower level of the SLC. The donation bin is located across from the CIBC bank. Please contact [email protected] for large donations or monetary donations. Contact info:

227 hampers. One term. Real students. Real need.

This fall, 214 students at UWaterloo came through WUSA Food Support Service — and yeah, that could be your classmate, your lab partner, your friend. Food insecurity doesn’t have a “look.” It just means you’re stressed about groceries on top of midterms, and that’s genuinely a lot.

FSS is free, confidential, and student-run.
