The history display and the workers hard at it setting it all up

Sorry, its a long one....

Its hard to know where to begin when expressing our gratitude to each and every person that made yesterday happen. From the many who contributed their memories and photos for our history display, the wonderful school volunteers who erected and dismantled the display, those who catered afternoon tea and maned the BBQ. The Tarwin Lower Memorial Hall for allowing us to take over for the day, it was very fitting to be there for the 100th when that was where the story began 100 years ago. Thankyou all, it couldn't have been such a wonderful day without you.

If you didn't sign the attendance book, please let us know. We want to add a record of who was there to add to the time capsule to be opened at the 150th and don't want to leave you off the list.

We still have memorbillia mugs and pavers for engraving if you would like one, contact Vanessa on 0434 552 776 or [email protected] to organise. If we produce a book with all the info collected that formed some of our display, and you would like to be notified, please let Vanessa know too.

Thankyou again, we hope you enjoyed the day!!!!

In 2017, the Tarwin Lower Primary School created with local artist, Ben Everitt, a digital storybook.

This film is based on a traditional indigenous story from the Gunai people of Gippsland in Victoria, Australia. It was made in two weeks after a 7 week drawing program with Tarwin Lower Primary School. The 40 students contributed over 500 drawings which were scanned and used in the film. Cultural advice was given by Luke Johnson, a local Gunai man.

The current TLPS Grade 5 & 6 students headed off to Melbourne camp this morning, the Grade 3 & 4 are off to Forest Lodge on Wednesday, so lets talk school camps. The first TLPS school camp was mentioned in the 1975 records but not where they went, can you remember?

What was your favourite camp when you were at school? Where did you go? Here are some pictures from camps in the past.
