UVic biology grad and conservationist Paul Nicklen is one of the world’s top wildlife photographers who’s documented the beauty and plight of our planet for more than 30 years.
His new book, Reverence, caps decades spent with bears, penguins, wolves and whales, and is a love letter to the planet.
“It's great to be recognized for photography, but nothing tastes as good as a conservation win. Nothing tastes as good as being effective and affecting change with your camera and with your storytelling. So that’s the ultimate goal in the end.”

Looking for a new book to sink your teeth into this summer? 📖 😎
The UVic Alumni Book Club’s next selection is The Glass Chateau by Stephen P. Kiernan.
The book’s publisher describes it as “a novel of hope, healing, and the redemptive power of art, set against the turmoil of post-World War II France and inspired by the life of famed artist Marc Chagall.”
Best of all, joining UVic Alumni’s online book club is easy and free!
