We are heartbroken by the devastating act of violence and loss of life in Tumbler Ridge yesterday.
Our thoughts, compassion, and hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, to those who were injured, and to Tumbler Ridge as a whole. We stand with the close-knit community and join the province and country in offering our deepest sympathy and support.
Understandably, such tragedy is upsetting for adults and children alike. Thank you to the parents, caregivers, counsellors, educators, and all staff within the district for supporting each other as well as the students and the youth in our community. We encourage anyone who needs it to seek support in understanding their feelings and to lean on each other in this time of loss.

Greater Victoria School District

Does your child use text messaging, TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Discord, WhatsApp, gaming chats, or any device that connects online—or will they be soon? If so, this session is designed for YOU.
Think about it this way: You would never hand your child the keys to a car without studying the rules of the road. Using a digital device is no different. The risks are real, and misuse can create long-lasting emotional, social, and even criminal consequences.
Join "Establishing Family Practices for Safeguarding Against Cyberbullying & Sextortion." These sessions are led by North American experts who have seen every type of cyberbullying and sextortion case. These sessions are no cost and occur online and are open to all.
