ENTREVUE RADIO-CANADA INTERVIEW
ENGLISH FOLLOWS ⬇️ L’ANGLAIS SUIT

On Friday, March 22, Émile Fromet de Rosnay, Acting Chair of the Department of French and Francophone Studies (French at UVic) spoke to Radio-Canada about the amalgamation of the departments of French and Francophone Studies, Germanic and Slavic Studies, Hispanic and Italian Studies, and Linguistics.
As the UVSS’s designated course union for this department, we’re disappointed that none of our course unions (us, Underlings or the Germanic and Slavic Studies Course Union) were consulted during the one-year consultation process.
While more collaboration is always welcome, we worry that our identity as an official language minority community will be lost in the process. Our hope is that the Faculty of Humanities and the School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures will stay true to its word and involve student voices in their administrative decisions in the spirit of collaboration.
