Our innovative design-thinking challenge will tackle contemporary societal concerns in a way that goes beyond the standard approach to solving problems.

Royal Roads Design Thinking 09/20/2022

Registration is now open for the Royal Roads Design Thinking Challenge (RRDTC) and the Royal Roads Design Thinking Educator & Practitioner Conference (RRDTEPC).

The virtual Royal Roads Design Thinking Challenge is for business undergraduates who want to learn design thinking and contribute to societal good. It is a student competition with $10,000 in prizes, but more importantly, it is an educational event. Judges act as mentors, who help students develop design thinking skills. We limit the event to 12 teams, so that each team can receive meaningful feedback at each step of the process. The virtual four-day live event runs from Feb 15-18, 2023. (Round 1, which happens asynchronously starts January 16, 2023).

The one-day virtual Royal Roads Design Thinking Educator & Practitioner Conference is a "Conference for Design Thinking Lovers, Skeptics, Revolutionaries, and Curious Bystanders." We invite practitioners, educators, and researchers to share your successes, your tips and tricks, your lessons learned, your critiques, your “redesigned” design processes, and your hopes for how design thinking might help foster new futures. Please submit a proposal by to present by October 31, 2022.

For 2018, we have partnered with City of Victoria and together we have identified an important social challenge. The details of the challenge will be announced by the Mayor of Victoria on February 19th, 2018.
