Money isn’t everything… but it is something.
It’s how we fund the life we care about.
Your values deserve more than vibes — they deserve a financial plan.
Whether it’s freedom, security, generosity, or joy… let’s align your dollars with what actually matters to you.

🎉 The holidays are around the corner, and while our wallets might be feeling a bit skinny, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a blast with our girlies. Here are three ways to make memories without breaking the bank. Let’s dive in!
1. Potluck Pajama Party
Why not combine two of the best things ever: food and PJs? Have everyone bring their favorite dish, and voilà, you’ve got yourself a feast fit for queens on a budget. Bonus points for fuzzy socks and a holiday movie marathon. It’s all about the coziness and carbs, my friends.
2. Karaoke Night at Home
Channel your inner diva with a karaoke night! Who needs a fancy karaoke bar when you've got YouTube and your shower-singing skills? Grab some snacks, crank up the holiday tunes, and let the (probably off-key) singing begin. Who knows, you might discover your girl group’s hidden talent!
3. Scavenger Hunt Adventure
Create a holiday-themed scavenger hunt around your neighborhood or local park. Split into teams and see who can find the most festive decorations or snap photos of quirky holiday displays. Prizes? Bragging rights and maybe a candy cane or two. It’s like being in a holiday romcom, minus the cheesy dialogue!
Remember, it’s not about how much you spend but the fun you have and the memories you make. So grab your besties, a sprinkle of creativity, and let’s make this holiday season one to remember! 🎄💃🏼

Okay, maybe "saved my life" was a bit dramatic... but I really want to share why it is so important to put debt repayment, savings, and investing before the rest of your budget. Let me explain by telling you a little about my financial story.
When I was 13, I had my whole life planned out. I was moving to Victoria and opening a salon. Sure, there were a few hiccups in my master plan. For starters, I had no money, no experience, no education, and next to no financial literacy. Oh, and did I mention I come from a family of 10 kids? There was no running home for help when things went wrong and so (like most of my siblings) by the time I was 17, I was completely financially independent. That meant working two full-time minimum wage jobs just to stay afloat, all while doing my apprenticeship, buying all my tools, and attending every class I could. It was a lot, to say the least.
Despite being fascinated by finance and the mystery of how money works, at that time, I was just scraping by. Savings seemed like a pipe dream when, most times, groceries were out of reach. But, being the rebellious girl that I am, I started reading about finance. Slowly but surely, the wheels started turning. Just as I was feeling the pressure to "pay myself first," a friend of mine who had landed a job at TD Bank needed some butts in seats to make a good impression on her boss. Being a girl's girl, I signed myself up for an appointment. At the time, $50 a month seemed impossible, but she convinced me to start auto-investing with two goals in mind: retirement and my future salon, that's right, $50 towards each!

Ready to join me on my No Spend September? Oh, I can hear the collective sighs and see the eye rolls already, but stick with me. This isn’t about deprivation; it’s about liberation from the unnecessary clutter that weighs us down and the sneaky spending that drains our wallets.
First, let’s get clear on what’s in and what’s out. Green Lights: Think of these as your essentials – the stuff you absolutely can’t skip out on, like bills, groceries, and that soul-sucking but obligatory commute. We’re also giving a nod to the expenditures you’ve smartly pre-planned and penciled into your budget. For me, that’s my much-needed baby moon getaway. I mean, mama needs some R&R before the little bundle of joy arrives!
Now, for the No-Go Zones. This is where we get tough. Spontaneous splurges? Nope. Not even if it's on clearance. Last minute lattes or dinner dates? Sorry, they’re off the table. It’s time to rekindle that love affair with your kitchen – it’s been feeling neglected, and those takeout bills add up fast these days! And let’s give a hard pass to new threads or anything that influencer swears you “absolutely need.” Your well-thought-out shopping list is your best friend this month. Stray from it, and you’ll find yourself in the spending danger zone.
But wait, it’s not all about saying no. Let’s talk Fun Challenges. Channel that inner creativity with cost-free hobbies. Dust off that guitar, pick up a new language, or dive into a DIY project (for me, it's nesting season and i love a little DIY). Trust me, fulfillment doesn’t come with a price tag. And hey, this is the perfect time to create some breathing space in your closet. Sell those rarely worn clothes, or donate that old decor you don't even like and maybe make a little cash while you’re at it.
So, who's with me? Let’s make No Spend September not just a challenge, but a movement. Because darling, you’re worth more than the sum of your purchases. Let’s do this! 💪

Ah, lifestyle creep, the sneaky little devil that tiptoes into our lives when we're not looking. Picture this: you get a well-deserved promotion or land a higher-paying job—cue the confetti and celebratory dance. But before you know it, your newfound income gets eaten up by upgraded dinners, snazzier outfits, and that shiny new gadget you absolutely "had" to have. That's lifestyle creep in action, my friend.
So, why should you be wary of it? For starters, lifestyle creep can quietly sabotage your financial goals. Imagine you're finally making enough to save for that dream house or exotic vacation, but instead, your extra cash is being siphoned into daily luxuries that you didn't even think twice about before. It's like pouring water into a bucket with tiny, invisible holes—no matter how much you pour, it never seems to fill up.
But don't worry, you're not doomed to a life of frugality or endless financial anxiety. Being aware of lifestyle creep is the first step in conquering it. Set clear priorities and stick to them. Treat yourself, sure, but within reason. Remember, building wealth doesn't mean burning through your bank account; it means taking control of your finances so you can live the life you truly want, not just the one that looks good on Instagram. So, go ahead, enjoy that extra guac—just don't let it derail your dreams.
