We went to Emmaline's | Victoria BC Restaurant for dinner and left obsessed with this steak!

If you don't know Emmaline's | Victoria BC Restaurant yet — it's Quadra Village's hidden gem, a cozy neighborhood bistro with a menu that's always changing (and stone oven pizza that's not to be missed 🍕).

But this visit, we were there for their flat iron steak, made with our COZY KOJI ｜Japanese KOJI fermentation Shio Koji. Flat iron has a bit of an underdog story — often overlooked, but incredibly tender in the right hands.

Now imagine that cut marinated in our koji. 😳

Chef/Owner, Elizabeth (on the left) experimented for a while to find the exact amount + marinating time to get it just right — you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. 💛

The restaurant itself is warm and cozy, the kind of place you want to linger in, with friendly, passionate staff who made us feel right at home.

They also have a farm on Thetis island and open Saturdays 10am to 1pm!
