Begonia I’conia Portofino Champagne: Tom’s fave begonia!
From
A charming and tasteful nursery located on the Vancouver Westside. We hope you will visit soon!
Established in 1991, and located in a charming 'equestrian pocket' on Vancouver's upscale westside, this unique area called Southlands is a horse friendly enclave right in the city. Large lots and small acreages house many stables, and it is not unusual to see horses and their riders go by our gates. With delicious free coffee always on hand, many people tell us that they come down to the nursery just to experience the beautiful atmosphere.

Buddleja davidii
Commonly known as the Butterfly Bush, white Buddleja (or Buddleja davidii) is a vigorous, deciduous shrub celebrated for its elegant, arching habit and prolific summer blooms. From midsummer through early autumn, it produces large, tapered panicles (flower clusters) packed with tiny, hone
Typically reaches 6 to 10 feet in height and spread, though compact dwarf cultivars (like ‘Pugster White’ or ‘White Ball’) stay under 3 feet. Its willow-like, lance-shaped leaves have a soft, grayish-green underside that creates a beautiful silvery contrast in the breeze.
True to its name, the nectar-rich flowers are an absolute magnet for butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
Thrives in full sun and exceptionally well-drained soil. It is highly drought-tolerant once established and handles urban pollution well.
Blooms on new wood, so it benefits from a hard pruning down to a low framework in early spring to encourage dense growth and larger flower spikes.
Note: Depending on your region, Buddleja davidii can be a vigorous self-seeder. If invasiveness is a concern in your area, look for modern, certified seedless (sterile) white hybrids.
