Cubase Templates

In the last episode I tried to make a breakbeat with Suno Studio. Half an hour, nothing I could use. So this week I went back to what I know.

Episode 385 of Live Electronic Music: organic house, built from scratch in Logic Pro X at 126 BPM.

No loops. A Deep Tech kit in Drum Machine Designer, the kick tuned to the root key, patterns pushed off the grid so the groove breathes. Then a thumpy bass, a trippy pad, and SilverVerb with the side chain after the reverb, so it floats and pumps. The lead failed at first. Then it turned into something that sounds like 1999 prog house.

My rule for every episode: would I release this under my name? This one, yes. So it is the template.

One question for you: what is organic house for you?

I said I would never use AI to make music.

Then I paid $30 for Suno Studio 6.0 and tested it live. No edits. No second takes.

I asked for a simple breakbeat drum loop. It gave me a finished song with vocals I never asked for. Then it crashed and I lost everything.

Here is the problem nobody talks about. Suno is trained on finished, mastered tracks. So that is all it can give you. It can't give you the parts. And the parts are where the music is.

25 years of making music taught me one thing. The joy is in building it yourself.

Would you release an AI track under your own name? Yes or no. Be honest 👇
