We’re proud to spotlight Silene Razo, a Mexican dancer, actress, and emerging choreographer who has made Vancouver her artistic home since 2017.
As co-director of Ome Dance, Silene has been featured at events such as Dancing on the Edge, Winnipeg Fringe, and Vancouver Fringe. This November, she and her collaborator Judith Colibrí will present The Catrina and the Whispers of Flowers at the 2025 STAND Festival, a work inspired by the Day of the Dead that reflects on memory, grief, and cultural continuity.
Silene describes her experience performing in VLACC-supported projects as deeply meaningful, helping her connect with a larger network of Latin American artists and feel more rooted in a vibrant community.
