We help Grades 5–12 students build deep understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills so they stay challenged, grow beyond school, and reach their full potential.

It started with a simple observation.

Too many bright, capable students were entering university without the depth of understanding or thinking skills they needed to thrive. They had the potential but had never been challenged enough to think critically, learn conceptually, or connect ideas.

When Dr. Natasa Sirotic and Dr. Klaus Hoechsmann founded Math Potentials, they set out to change that. They believed that, if properly nurtured, every student can build strong problem-solving and thinking skills that empower them to succeed with confidence in higher studies and future careers.

That belief became the foundation for everything we do today. Through our Math Circles program and The Math Potentials Growth Path, students move beyond memorization to develop mathematical thinking.

Since starting with two small classes in 2000 to working with 100’s of students each year, our mission remains the same.

If your child is not being challenged enough, losing interest, or not reaching their full potential in math, we can help.

📩 Message us the word MATH and we can have a chat about your child’s current strengths and and areas for growth.

These are the kinds of transformations we love to see.

Many bright students lose confidence or interest when school math doesn’t challenge them enough. They start coasting, memorizing steps instead of understanding ideas, and that can quietly hold them back later when real problem-solving and independent thinking matter most.

At Math Potentials, we help students develop the skills and mindsets that lead to long-term success: critical thinking, problem-solving, and the confidence to tackle complex challenges in higher studies and future careers.

If you feel your child is capable of more than is being asked of them in school, we can help.

Message us the word “MATH”, and we’ll chat about your child’s current strengths and what they need to keep growing.

Here’s how we help Gr 5 & 6 math students using the Math Potentials Growth Path Method.

1. Assess — Build Readiness and Clarity
We identify what your child already understands and what they’re ready to learn next. This ensures every student begins at the right level of challenge, laying the foundation for growth.

2. Develop — Acquire Core Concepts and Skills
Key mathematical ideas are developed conceptually using proven curricula and teaching practices from Singapore and Japan, not as steps to memorize, but as logical relationships that can be reasoned through. Students then practice these new skills through repetition with purpose to build accuracy, fluency, and a sense of satisfaction from mastery.

3. Apply — Generalize and Extend Understanding
Once fluency is secure, students use their skills to solve multi-step and non-routine problems, seeing how concepts connect across topics. Students move beyond “doing math” to thinking mathematically: analyzing, reasoning, and transferring knowledge to new contexts.

4. Grow — Reflect, Communicate, and Advance
Students consolidate learning by explaining their reasoning, reflecting on mistakes, and tackling deeper challenges. They develop independence, confidence, and an enduring appreciation for the process of learning math.

In as little as 12 weeks, these steps create the transformation parents want for their child: A confident, capable, and curious math thinker who’s growing towards their full potential.

Hi! We’re Math Potentials, founded by Dr. Natasa Sirotic & Dr. Klaus Hoechsmann. We help Grade 5 & 6 students stay challenged, confident, and engaged in math. In as little as 12 weeks, they begin thinking and problem-solving like true mathematicians.

Right now, your child might be coasting through school math, picking up shallow learning habits, losing interest, and not heading down the right path to realize their full potential in the future. That’s common… and completely fixable.

Here’s the simple blueprint we’ll use:
The Math Potentials Growth Path Method

➡ Assess – Find their current level & what they’re ready to learn next.
➡ Develop – Build fluency & understanding through connected, purposeful practice.
➡ Apply – Turn understanding into confident problem-solving
➡ Grow – Reflect, communicate, and advance with confidence.

Parents like this because it’s clear, structured, and built for real challenge and growth.

If you want a simple, proven plan for your child, we can help.

Message us the word "MATH" and let’s chat to see if your child is a good fit for our Math Circles program.

At Math Circles, students go beyond memorization. They learn how to reason, question, and discover solutions through rich, thought-provoking problems. This approach builds confidence, creativity, and a true love for math.

Because when students think like mathematicians, they can tackle any challenge in math and in life.
