This is a place for parents and caregivers of Walter Moberly Elementary school students to share info The following group guidelines are governed by the PAC.

The guidelines may be revised as needed at the discretion of the PAC Executive.

1. To ensure the security of this group, administrators may annually ask that all members reconfirm that they are connected to current Moberly students. .

2. We aim to be solution-oriented and focused on providing information to one another. Information-sharing and questions are always welcome, but please direct specific concerns/complaints to the source first, rather than posting here. For example: hot lunch issues or concerns should be sent to to the PAC email or school administration; PAC-related concerns and/or issues that should be discussed at a PAC meeting and should be sent to [email protected] and applicable school-related concerns should be directed to the Moberly school administration [email protected] . If you are not sure who to contact or how to reach them, please ask by sending us a direct message.

3. Although school staff may choose to participate in this group, this is not intended to replace other methods of communicating with teachers or the school, only to facilitate open communication.

4. Please do not post personal information about teachers/staff, including work schedules. To ensure their privacy online, it is important that this information only come from the staff member themselves or from the school.

5. Keep things civil and be a good example. Don't write anything you wouldn't want your kids to read. Think before you post, and think before you reply.

6. Comments will be deleted without warning if they are deemed to be inappropriate, such as posts containing rudeness, profanity, insulting and defamatory comments, personal attacks, or purposeless inflammatory comments. Hostile, offensive, and/or foul language will not be tolerated.

7. Differences of opinion will happen, but please keep discussion respectful. Take personal disagreements to private messages. Threads that get out of hand will be locked or deleted without warning.

8. Please remember that PAC events are run by volunteers who are giving their time and energy, and be gentle with your criticism.

9. Please do not post photos of students without their parents' permission.

10. Please do not post photos of other parents and/or their vehicles. Public shaming is not a useful means of conflict resolution, and is not acceptable.

11. Deliberately offensive or provocative posts with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the group.

12. Although mentioning your business is not prohibited, please do not advertise here. If you are unsure, please check with a group administrator.

13. Members who violate these guidelines will be given a warning. Continuous inappropriate behaviour will result in removal from the group. Thank you for your interest in our page!

Summer is almost over! And while we’re still enjoying these last summer days, we’re also very excited to be planning our first PAC event of the school year!

We’d love to welcome our Walter Moberly families back, reconnect after the summer, meet some new faces, and start the year together with a fun morning for our school community.

We’ll have fun activities, a concession table, our Grade 7 Yard Sale, community guests, and a special visit from Vancouver Fire Rescue Services! 🚒

Remembering Colette Rodrigue 💛

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved engineer, Colette Rodrigue, a truly amazing human and cherished member of the Moberly community for 15+ years.

We invite Moberly families and community members to join us at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4th, in front of Moberly Elementary School to come together, remember Colette, and honour the impact she had on so many of us.

Families are welcome to bring flowers or a small token of remembrance to place on the school steps.

If your children often play at Moberly, please take a moment to explain that these flowers and tokens are there as a way for our community to remember and honour Colette. We kindly ask that children leave them in place so everyone has a chance to see and contribute to this special memorial.

A heartfelt thank you to Arati, Katharine, and Marlon for taking the initiative to organize this gathering.

A big thank you to the Division 7 (Grade 4) students of Walter Moberly Elementary for making these lovely cards. The class wanted to wish the residents of Finnish Care Home in Vancouver a Happy Valentine’s Day, or as they learned, Friendship Day in Finland. Thanks to Mr. Webb for teaching the children the importance of valuing our seniors' life experiences, knowledge, and stories, and for reminding them to bring joy to their lives.
