Spring has sprung - how's your piano sounding? Did you know that for annual tuning- picking the same time of year can greatly help in keeping your piano at a stable pitch. Pianos (largely made of porous wood products and parts) typically fall flat during winter due to dry humidity levels that shrink that wood; inversely the pitch goes high during summer humid conditions. Overall the effects of this will be a gradual slide towards a flat pitch over time. Tuning in the spring - after the extreme dryness of winter and before the high temps and humidity of summer is often the most advantageous time to correct and maintain pitch.

Well it's that time of year when we head south to warmer waters for the winter. Im going to miss the pianos but not the snow- next year I'll probably be staying put in the Canadian cold so I'm going to make the most of this winters fun in the sun. See you in May!
