Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough!
The first feature wildlife film I (Louisa) worked on, we shot with Sir David at his home in London. It is incredible to have met someone who has inspired me and so many others. Since this photo was taken, I and the team at Wild Bus Films, have worked on five of his series, most recently for me, as a Director (and the PA me in this photo would never have believed that!). What an honour!

Every spring in the Salish Sea, Pacific herring return to the sheltered bays, releasing billions of eggs that turn the shoreline a pale turquoise. It’s one of the most important ecological events of the year, a pulse of life that feeds everything from seabirds and salmon to seals, whales, wolves, bears and even coastal forests. When herring thrive, the whole coast benefits from these keystone species of the Pacific Northwest.

These images from the Hornby Island spawn capture just a small glimpse of this incredible annual event in the Salish Sea.

Celebrating the Life of Chad White
Chad’s support and passion made the early days of Wild Bus Films possible. The business owes a great deal to his generosity, adventurous spirit, and enthusiasm for ambitious projects.

His deep knowledge of West Coast wildlife and waterways was invaluable, shaping many of the productions we worked on. His passing is a profound loss to our family, our business, and the Coast.

We hope you can join us in celebrating his incredible life.

Exploring the breathtaking ice caves with in Alaska! These stunning caves are sculpted by meltwater streams flowing beneath the glaciers, forming intricate tunnels and chambers. The caves’ structure constantly evolves due to the delicate balance of melting and refreezing ice, making their stability unpredictable. That’s why it’s crucial to understand the glacier’s conditions and have expert guidance to ensure safety. Fortunately, Wild Bus Films works with some of Alaska’s top guides to help our team navigate this extreme environment.

Captured on location for new series “Solar System,” now available on BBC iPlayer.

The aurora putting on a show over Quadra Island this week!

We’re used to filming northern lights in the north but not often do we get to capture them at home near the 50th parallel. Magical night chasing the aurora over flat calm waters and even some clouds filling into the Salish Sea to add more depth to this incredible hyperlapse.

Love and Death

This incredible photo by , taken while on location for the series “Incredible Animal Journeys”, personifies the intricate dance between creation and destruction. Reaching the end of their two year life cycle these spawning Pink Salmon will soon die after giving life to their offspring continuing the cycle of these important key stone species. In the words of one of our favourite Pacific Northwest Artists .troll “Spawn till you die”.
