We’re talking lots about inclusion, but all the private sector feels is exclusion. Owners deserve to be heard and included in decision making.

Ontario's $10/day child-care program: Daycare operators wary about opting-in As parents anxiously wait to reap the benefits of Ontario’s child-care deal with the federal government, they might not know the program is not mandatory.

Children are the future, and what matters most is how we support them. Government should be putting every resource into ensuring the success of every child instead of making cuts to push campaigns.
Parents shouldn’t have to fight for fairness.

Quality Child Care Matters!!

Here is some basic information about $10/day:

Information below ⬇️

-The NDP Government has so far created 2,500 $10/day childcare spaces to date in BC since 2018.

-Budget 2021 outlined there would be the creation of 4,000 new spaces, this remains incomplete.

The NDP Government promises to create 12,500 $10/day spaces by the end of 2022. This also remains incomplete and they're nowhere close to this.

-The "creation" of $10/day childcare spaces does NOT mean the creation of "new" spaces. Instead, it is the conversion of MANY existing spaces, hence the invitation to sign up. The process to create actual new spaces is much slower and takes a long time.

-The NDP Government has a deal with the Federal Government that to receive further funding they must "create" 12,500 spaces by end of 2022.

-The NDP's main concern is to complete their agenda. It is NOT in the best interest of providers and families.

-Daycares are already running at full capacity with extensive waitlists. Without the creation of new spaces, BC's daycare crisis will become impossible to control.

-In 2021 The NDP Government restricted independent daycares from expanding. This pushed demand.

-In 2022 The NDP Government further restricted independent daycares from expanding and daycares began to close.

-In 2021 more than 100,000 people immigrated to BC, and 2022 is projected to be even higher.

-Demand is growing every month.

-The NDP is forcing a campaign agenda that is crippling our child care system and all families will be affected.

The NDP is wasting tax payers money.

-One childcare space created through the Government's public program costs taxpayers 57,000.00.

-The same spaces created by a private operator costs the operator $16,000.00.

-The Government needs to give families the funds directly so they can attend and afford daycare and keep the right to choose a program.

-Child Care Programs are not one size fits all.

-The Government needs to fund independent daycares to create more spaces to meet demand immediately.

-If people can't find child care they can't go to work.

-As we saw in the pandemic, when daycares are unavailable parents get desperate and leave their children with anyone they can find so they can work.

-We can't let this happen. We can't let this crisis continue.

Change to daycare hours leaves some health-care workers in a bind | CBC News 07/05/2022

All across Canada parents are starting the feel the strain of Government restrictions.

'We just don’t have clear information': Nearly 250 GTA child care centres have applied for $10 a day program 07/04/2022

Ontario daycares refuse to opt-in to the $10-a-day program due to lack of support and information from the Government.
The same will likely happen in BC.

Canada’s National Private-Sector Childcare Destruction Program The laws of economics are crystal clear about what happens when prices fall dramatically. Demand rises in step. Such will be the inevitable result of Canada’s new national childcare program as parents respond to heavily-subsidized fees that will eventually drop to a mere $10 per day. But unless th
