An earthy pigment containing ferric oxide and clay called "ochre" is mixed with raw linseed oil to recreate the earliest pigment used in prehistoric and ancient times. Though it's been taking months to dry (unlike boiled linseed oil), going all natural ingredients worth the wait.

Touch-up done. Black stain is slightly off because I mixed a bit of tint so that hiding power is sufficient for crack line. One will not be able to tell that there were a breakage.

Introducing one of a kind marquetry tele. Individual pieces of wood veneer were precisely cut and joined to create this artwork. It's paired with two-piece red alder body, Eastern maple neck, and no-inlay African ebony fingerboard.

I did quadruple checks to make sure both pieces line up properly and figured out where the clamps should go. Vaseline was first applied to the truss rod so Titebond3 does not bind to it. It was clamped for overnight and then super glue is used to fill any voids. The joint is super strong and I don't think extra reinforcement is necessary. Next is to flush sand the surface and refinish.

It hurts to post this. A customer brought this in for repair... very typical breakage for Les Paul style guitars. At least the broken joint is clean without multiple chips and pieces. I'll cover the repair process in next few posts.
