Each class is a new exploration out in nature, where we learn from an emergent and seasonally based curriculum, guided by our little naturalists’ interests. Now accepting enrollment for next semester, starting January 9th.

So far this season, we’ve been focusing a lot on feelings and understanding others, both in practice (showing emotions, sharing, helping our friends) and in reading a lot from a series of “I Feel…” Tundra Friends picture books. We’ve delved deep into dinosaurs, a popular subject, and have used it as the framework for our discussions on Predator and Prey relations in our ecosystems.

We’ve observed plenty of wildlife and noticed evidence of different creatures in nature each day, from frogs and hawks, to coyote s**t too! Each day is a new adventure in the forests, meadows, wetlands, and beaches of Jericho, depending on lesson plan, weather, and often a student vote! We’re mindful to visit new places each day to both keep classes enriching and to help keep these wild spaces wild. Classes from 9-1 Monday through Friday.

Happy Fall, y’all 🕸

We explored a new spot in the forest the other day, where these little knee-high naturalists noticed a whole world of seasonal changes, already! We found beans growing and told the children an elaborate Jack and Beanstalk (acted out by yours truly), hopped after wee frogs we found, and marveled at fluffy Tiger Moth caterpillars.

We teach little ones to respect this ecologically sensitive area and all of the special creatures who live there, while learning more about them! Every day is a new adventure out in nature, where children build friendships, physical ability, and their connection with nature 🍂

Children are welcome to join our preschool program throughout the semester, so reach on out if you have a little one who would love some more outdoor learning, playing, socializing, and storytelling!

✨Happy Birthday, Teacher Tanner!

I am truly so happy to spend my morning out exploring with these wee Forest Friends! As an ecological educator, I’ve traveled around a bit for my schooling and experience. September always feels like the new year to me, often in a new city, often fairly far from friends and family. This year, I feel filled with gratitude for getting to spend my morning with our sweet little class of young learners. Answering their animal questions, getting them comfier and confident out in nature, caring for, and laughing with these tiny people truly bring extra joy and light to my day! I wouldn’t have it any other way 💜

These little ones were so proud of the shelter they had built! It is amazing to see what children will do when gifted the time and space to play and learn through their own curiosity 🌱

Each day is a different outdoorsy adventure with our Forest Friends! Together, we go for little hikes and immerse ourselves in different natural playscapes.

We’ve had a delightful first week of our Autumn Preschool Semester 🍏

Our curriculum is emergent, seasonal, play-based, and child-led. We follow what fascinates children and give them the tools to learn more about what catches their interest, while exploring out in nature.

This week we welcomed familiar friends and new faces to our little outdoor classroom. Our priority in learning this week was to simply get acquainted with one another and give plenty of free play for letting these new friendships form 💚

Whether your child is gaining the social skills and independence to get ready for kindergarten next year, or just now ready for their first learning activity out of the house on their own, we’re excited to welcome them to a calm, safe, and fun learning environment outdoors!

We’re a fresh new program with experienced forest preschool educators… we’re happy to provide flexibility for families and a tailored approach to caring for your little one. We’re fully insured, CPR and First Aid trained and certified, and park permitted 👍
