Sometimes history waits quietly beneath our feet.

While sorting clean fill from a recent excavation along historic Water Street in St. Andrews, we made an unexpected discovery—a Victorian-era Firmin & Sons uniform button dating to the mid-1800s, along with fragments of beautiful blue-and-white transferware.

Who lost the button? Who gathered around the table where the pottery was once used? We'll probably never know.

Dear Friends,

With the snow falling this holiday morning, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and say thank you. Over the past year, whether we worked together on a job, supplied materials, lent a hand, or simply crossed paths and talked about future plans, your support and trust have meant more to me than you might know.

This year had its challenges, but it was also filled with honest work, good people, and the kind of connections that make this community what it is. I’m grateful for every project, every conversation, and every opportunity to do work I’m proud of.

As we head into the new year, I look forward to continuing to work with familiar faces and welcoming new ones, and to taking on whatever the months ahead may bring.

However you spend this time of year, I hope the holiday season gives you a chance to slow down, enjoy time with family and friends, and start the new year feeling rested and hopeful.
