Throw back to the first time I tried out paddleboarding! 10 years ago - 2016 - on the Okotoks lake with Wild Spirit SUP where we not only paddled, did yoga! Yep - never been on a SUP before and we did yoga. I was scared but did it anyways. My poor muscles were so fatigued just paddling to the spot we anchored for yoga class - and then I got out of overthinking mode and allowed myself to relax into it. It was a great experience, we finished with a group paddle around the lake.

Fast forward to now - I have put my board to work getting lots of use of it in the time I’ve had it.
So glad I tried it! I’ve convinced a lot of friends to get a board too!

A great reminder to try the things, especially the ones that challenge you!

Another great summer of yoga with the kids at the park! It always amazes me how much they really learn & retain, especially when it may seem they are just playing around. (By the way, playing IS how kids learn & retain)

Learning breath techniques is so helpful for young, growing bodies learning to regulate their emotions. Just imagine where we’d be in life if we had those tools early on!

I hope to offer some family yoga workshops over the school year - you can subscribe to my emails to keep updated.

Namaste yogis!

When is the last time you were able to receive rest? In the moment, mind still, purely enjoying the moment?

It’s become a skill that needs to be practiced, especially in our culture of busyness.

The concept of Hygge [HU - gah] is intentional rest, coziness, enjoyment, connection. Think curling up with a blanket, tea and a good book, candles, a relaxed dinner with good friends - that feeling that we experience - that is Hygge.

This fall I am hosting my Hygge-theme weekend retreat. Last year was beyond expectation, and we’re doing it again. This is the weekend where you return feeling grounded & rested. The only thing required of you for the weekend is enjoyment. We will offer daily yoga, meditation, journaling, naps, hot tub, sauna, fire and beautiful food.

There are just a few spaces left, if this calls to you, I would love to welcome you.

Myofascial release using rolling techniques is something I love to share, likely from the difference I know it made in my own body. I was able to access areas to bring relief that nothing else could.

I got to share this class with these 200YTT students with Jenni at Kula Yoga Okotoks

Thank you for having me
