🌾 Today, we come together to honour Vaisakhi 🌾 — a festival rich in tradition, history, and meaning.
For many, it marks the joyous harvest season, a time to give thanks for abundance and hard work. For the Sikh community, it is also a deeply spiritual day that commemorates the birth of the Khalsa, a symbol of courage, equality, and collective strength.
Also, in Northern India, this is the time when the wheat crop is ready to be harvested and so people from all religions and communities use and celebrate this day to thank the gods for a good harvest which will in turn ensure sustenance and income for them
At our college, Vaisakhi reminds us of the beauty in our diversity and the strength found in unity. It’s a time to reflect on our roots, to honour the values of resilience and compassion, and to celebrate the vibrant cultures that make our community so special.
Whether you’re gathering with loved ones, preparing traditional meals, or simply taking a moment to reflect — may this day bring you peace, joy, and connection.
Let us continue to learn from one another, lift each other up, and create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and celebrated.
