"To learn a language is to do stuff; our language is living. My grandpa wrote on the ground or in the snow to teach me words during our hunting trips and walks. Now, I pass on these lessons to my grandkids the same way. It's easier to preserve a language by doing activities on the land rather than just telling them words in a classroom setting."

KEA, Kitchenuhmakoosib Education Authority, oversees the local JK-12 school, Aglace Chapman Education Centre, in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug also known as Big Trout Lake or KI for short, Ontario. A $42 million new school to be completed by Jan 2023 awaits you. This beautiful and active Ontario First Nations community offers exciting and creative opportunities, including the vocation to teach, learn and grow with your free residential accommodation. This community is located about 580 km north of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

KEA will conduct in-person and virtual interviews in Winnipeg on Jul 13, 14, and 15th at Canad Inns Destination Centre Club Regent Casino Hotel, 1415 Regent Ave W, Winnipeg, MB R2C 3B2. Interview times will be from 10 am – 4 pm.

KEA is hiring qualified teachers for the following primary and secondary positions; Physical Education (Primary & Secondary), Transition Teacher (Primary & Secondary), SERT (Secondary), Technology Teacher (Secondary), Guidance (academics) Counselor (Secondary), Geography certified/experience (Secondary), Arts (Secondary), Social Sciences and Humanities: Family Studies (Secondary).
