Seagull 12-String #8: Restring Tip (Bridge Lock) šŸŽø

Mini tutorial time.

If your acoustic strings keep slipping, popping, or refusing to settle in, itā€™s usually not ā€œbad stringsā€, itā€™s the install. Hereā€™s how I properly lock a string into the bridge on this Seagull 12-string so it seats cleanly and stays put.

Not complicated, but a few pointers go a long way. That sounds good.

Partscaster 05: Lubricating the Fretboard šŸ›¢ļø

Watch this Indian rosewood wake up.

Dry and dull turns warm, rich, and healthy in seconds. A treated fingerboard is a happy fingerboard, it feels better under your fingers, and it looks absolutely unreal when itā€™s properly cared for.

Love me some Indian rosewood. That looks good, and itā€™ll sound good too.

Seagull 12-String #7: Pre-Restring Update šŸŽø

Quick update from .

Fret edges filed, fret ends rounded, fretboard cleaned and lubricated. This Seagull is feeling smoother already, and weā€™re almost ready to button it up.

Coming next: the restring. Iā€™ll show you how to lock the string in at the saddle and how to wind cleanly at the tuning post so it holds tune and behaves.

Last time, I shaved the neck right at the fretboard edge to remove an uncomfortable ā€œpeakā€ at that transition point. Small detail, big difference in how the neck feels in your hand.

Next on the docket: fret end rounding. Hereā€™s a quick tease of that work, because comfort is everything.

Epiphone #6: C Standard Play Test šŸŽø

Ben tuned this Epiphone down to C Standard andā€¦ that sounds good.

I gave it a quick play test and it feels solid, plays clean, and holds together beautifully even with the lower tension.

When a guitar is properly sorted, it should feel good in any tuning you throw at it (within reason šŸ˜‰).
