Friendship is such an important aspect of life, and the way in which we gather friendships change throughout our lives.

Summer friendships are fast passed and either last a lifetime or are short lived. Each one of these connections plays an important role in our lives and our development.

When we make connections with others we grow our cognitive abilities, our self esteem, empathy, language development and so much more.

Friendships can be very mindful for both children and adults. When we are with friends we live in the moment, we soak up the laughter and enjoy the feeling friends give us.

Mindful Days at the Beach ⛱💦

Summer is full of new and exciting experiences for children.

The beach is a great way to practice mindfulness. Remember to focus on your different senses, and get exploring!

Mindfully touch the sand as you build a sandcastle! Ask questions, why does the sand castle fall apart? Why does water help hold the structure together?

How do you explore the beach with your little one?

Spring is a magical time when everything is coming alive. 🌸🌿

If you go out on a nature walk with a child, they will most likely point out all the new life they can see. This is a great opportunity to dive a little deeper and support their curiosity.

In the moment learn more!
Use your senses to explore nature. Use technology to learn with your child and answer the questions you may not have the answer to.

The more you explore the more you learn about the world around us!

Love creating art from nature!

Today is the perfect day to get out there and start gathering. As the snow melts it reveals hidden nature treasure! A few sticks, some paint, a little ribbon and just like that you have a magic wand!

Take your time gathering, talk about why the sticks are on the ground and ask how they are going to make their stick special.

Moving slowly and with purpose is how we practice mindfulness!

Mindful Walks
How do you achieve a mindful walk?
Simply get out there! Getting out the door and into the fresh air is the first step in your mindful outdoor journey.

Once your there, take your time. Look around, appreciate the beauty of nature.

If you have a child with you, talk about what can be seen, the smells, how the air feels… anything! Just engage with them and nature. ❄️

Positive Goal Setting
New year, new you? But can’t seem to maintain those New Year Resolutions?

Try Positive Goal Setting - it is all about creating achievable goals over the long term. Making a plan for yourself, sticking to it and being kind to yourself if you have to make amendments or alter your goals along the way.

“Children are born with unlimited creative curiosity and imaginative powers”✨

Here are some more natural loose parts ideas for you all!
💎gemstones + crystals
🐚seashells + fossils

Here are our top two favourite invitations to play you can try with your children:
✨Water Beads + Crystals - children explore different textures and practice numeracy skills by counting the number of water beads that fit in a Geoid, or how many water beads make up the surface of a particular crystal (the opportunities are endless)
✨Creating Crystal + Seashell Mandala’s - children explore patterning, shapes, sizes and texture

Finding ways to practice mindfulness through the simplest of activities✨

Beading allows children (and adults) to engage in the present moment by focusing on their breath and finger movements.

💛How to practice 3 count breath while beading:
✨ choose your bead
✨ take a deep breath in through your nose for 3 counts, while placing the bead on the string
✨Exhale through your nose for 3 counts, while sliding the bead across the string to meet the other beads on the end of your string

Drop a 💛 in the comments if you love beading!!🤗
