Every year, November 5, is World Tsunami Awareness Day.

Tsunamis are often caused by underwater earthquakes that displace large volumes of water, generating powerful waves that travel across the ocean at high speed. Scroll through the slides to learn how tsunamis form, how to recognize the warning signs, and what to do to stay safe.

Designed for girls and non-binary students in Grades 3–12, these hands-on sessions explore different coding languages through creative projects and collaborative problem-solving — no experience required.

took our CREATE: Think, Code, Create crew (Grades 9-10) on multiple coding adventures this summer! 🍏

Week after week, the Eaton Centre Apple Store team welcomed our students to explore Swift (Apple’s own coding language) and even build apps from scratch on iPad. Huge thanks to the whole team for making it possible - we might have just met the brains behind the next big App Store hit!! 📱

On Fridays we wear Actua shirts! 💙

This week, our CREATE students in the "From Concept to Production: Sustainable Product Design" course took their learning beyond the classroom, with an exciting field trip to IKEA ! 🛋️🛋️🌱

Focused on manufacturing engineering, the experience gave our Grade 9 & 10 innovators a firsthand look at how sustainable products are designed and brought to life. Seeing real-world applications of their ideas was the perfect way to connect theory with practice!

Week 4 of Jr. DEEP in the book! Another week of learning, laughter, and discovery, and we’re already excited for what’s next! ❤️

Week 3 of Jr. DEEP officially conquered!!! ✅

Our Jr. DEEP campers explored science, tech, and engineering through hands-on challenges, wild experiments, and a whole lot of creative thinking.
