Today is the last day of National Volunteer Week. Maker Festival is an entirely volunteer-run organization. Even though this year's event has been placed on hold, several members of our team has continued to volunteer their time for Community Make, working to address the PPE shortage in Canada by bringing together makers and organizations, sewing and delivering face masks, and researching best practices and procedures.

To our past and present event-day volunteers, we miss you! We can't wait to come together again with all of you to welcome Toronto back to Maker Festival.

Finally, thank you to everyone out there who has volunteered their time, resources, and ideas to support your community. We are inspired by your creativity and resilience.

As wearing face masks increasingly becomes part of our daily lives, we must understand both the limits of cloth masks and how to wear them properly. UPDATE: In light of the current situation surrounding COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Maker Festival. The health and safety of our makers, our team and our visitors is paramount. As we work closely with the Ontario Science Centre to find another date in 2020, we will keep you informed of new developments.
