My last remaining excuse left on Monday .
My son moved out for his senior year to play hockey elsewhere , and on Wednesday my daughter started her career job .
I’m incredibly proud of both of them.
But it also means that life in our house changed quite dramatically in the span of about 48 hours .
For years, so much of our schedule has revolved around our kids. Practices , games , school, appointments, meals, driving somewhere and figuring out who needs to be where and when .
I’ve always thought part of being a good mom and wife was being there for whatever & whenever my family needed.
And somewhere along the way , that also made it very easy to put myself last .
My family was taken care of .
My clients were taken care of.
The things that could wait were usually the things that were just for me .
I’ll work out when we’re less busy.
I’ll take better care of myself when I have more time .
I’ll get to that eventually.
Well apparently that time is now .
It’s only been a few days, but I’m trying to use this space differently.
I’m moving more. Taking better care of myself. Being intentional with my time. Thinking about what I want to build next in my business. And getting to some of the things I’ve spent years saying I’d do “ when I have more time”.
There’s something a little uncomfortable about finally getting the time you’ve been asking for.
Because now I have to not only decide what I’m going to do with it but also actually do it !
I’m not entirely sure what this next chapter looks like yet , but I’m looking forward to finding out .
