Belting shouldn’t feel like yelling 😬Try this quick 3-step shift to make it easier:
1️⃣ Call the phrase out playfully (light + fun)2️⃣ Stretch it a little (keep it easy)3️⃣ Sing it like you’d say it 🎤
Cleaner. Stronger. Way less strain.

🌿 Feeling stuck in your voice? This week’s Summer Voice Reset workout might be the shift you need.

Whether your voice has been feeling tense, disconnected, or just plain “off,” these simple, science-backed exercises are designed to help you reconnect—without overwhelm.

Here’s what we focused on:

🔸 SOVT on a fricative ([v]) – to reset breath and tension
🔸 Chest voice builder – 13531 on all 5 cardinal vowels for stability
🔸 Head voice clarity – straw phonation into “oo” on descending 54321
🔸 Registration balance – “oo” in head voice (54321), “oh” in chest voice (13531)
🔸 Phrase work – “You Need Me Here” on 1 551 for vocal precision

🗣️ These tools are perfect for building strength and ease without guesswork.

✨ Imagine your voice feeling clear, grounded, and flexible again—because you finally stopped powering through and started working smarter.

📌 Save this for your next practice or share it with a friend who needs a reset, too.
💬 Tried it? I’d love to hear what changed for you!

Ever feel like your voice just isn’t improving no matter how much you practice? There’s a reason for that, and it has nothing to do with talent or trying harder. It’s something called the Zone of Proximal Development, or ZPD. It’s a concept from motor learning that shows we grow fastest when we’re working just outside of what we can do alone, with the right support in place. At Eady Voice Co. we don’t believe in cookie-cutter exercises or pushing through songs that don’t fit your voice yet. We believe in clarity, strategy, and helping you grow with confidence. That’s why every lesson is personalized to your skill level, your goals, and your pace. Whether you’re just getting started or trying to break through a plateau, we’ll meet you where you are and help you move forward. If you’re ready to stop spinning your wheels and start making real vocal progress, let’s build your plan together.🎶 Book a lesson and take the guesswork out of your growth.

Having a big voice doesn’t mean your technique is working. It might mean you’ve learned how to get loud. But it doesn’t mean your breath is steady.Or that your larynx is balanced.Or that your voice will hold up under pressure.Loud can still be tight. It can still be tense. It can still wear you out.If your voice gets tired after singingIf your high notes feel like a gambleIf your belt is powerful but unpredictableThen it’s time to look at how your technique is supporting your soundYour power isn’t the problem. It just needs better foundations.Have you ever been praised for your volume, but felt like something was still off?I’d love to hear your experience below.

Still bracing your abs and hoping that’s “support”?You’re not alone. This is one of the most misunderstood parts of singing.Support isn’t about squeezing or powering through. It’s not a core workout. It’s about airflow.Connection.Consistency.That’s where legato comes in.Smooth singing helps you feel real support in action. When your breath flows evenly from note to note, your muscles work together without tension, and your tone stays steady without extra effort. This is one of the most effective ways to develop strength and balance in your voicewithout overthinking every phrase. If you’ve been told to “support more” but never knew how,try focusing on legato this week. You might be surprised how much easier singing can feel.Have you worked on legato before?Or has it just happened without thinking about it?Let me know below.

🎤 Ever wonder why your voice teacher ALWAYS asks, ‘How does that feel?’ after you sing? Spoiler: It’s not just to stall for time while they think of the next exercise! 😉

Here’s why this question is one of the MOST important tools in your vocal training:

💡 Every singer’s voice is unique. Understanding how adjustments feel for you helps us tailor your training.

💡 You can’t see your vocal folds like a pianist sees keys. Feeling is how you ‘see’ your instrument!

💡 It helps us build a common language. Terms like ‘placement’ and ‘support’ mean different things to different people—let’s make them clear for YOU.

💡 It’s how we find and fix tension. Your feedback lets us troubleshoot and keep your voice in top shape! 💪

🌟 What’s the weirdest or funniest thing a voice teacher has ever said to you in a lesson? Drop it in the comments—I can’t wait to hear these gems! 👇
