We had our first book club meeting!

A couple of months ago my daughter was raving to us about Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. She’d started it in her final weeks at high school but didn’t finish it, and we - Carina, Emily and I - decided to read it and book club it together.

It’s an incredible book that entwines class, love, self-doubt, entitlement, mystery, jealousy and the pleasure and terror of nature. The narrator herself is curious, intuitive, wracked with nerves and way out of her depth, and we’re totally in her hands.

My daughter led the meeting, asking wonderful questions that were fun to explore.

And then we all did face masks.

Look what I found!

Thrifting is one of our favourite things to do together ❤️ It's not just about what we find.

Marc and I have been in men's group together since 2018. There's something rich and deep that happens when you journey with someone through the beginnings and endings, the wildfires and new growths, that occur in any life over the years.

What started out as an in-person men's group shifted online during the pandemic and never went back. So it's rare a pleasure to enjoy the real in-person vibes of this wonderful man, Marc Champagne aka ❤️

Also he takes great photos of us!

One of my great pleasures is being cello roadie. Yesterday it was for her gig in Georgian Bay with the wonderful Strange Magic ELO tribute band.

It was an amazing show to a full house, and the adventure included a rainstorm, late night Macdonalds and a stay in a magical airbnb (she has a knack for finding these).

My daughter suggested we check out a Japanese flower show in Hamilton. Turned out to be a demonstration of , an over 550 year old Buddhist approach to flower arranging.

It was extraordinary.

And hi to potter who makes amazing ceramic baking vessels for breads and muffins.

Yup yup yup.

As a business owner there are many things that seem a like a preferable idea than what's really going to move the needle on your business.

Sometimes it's a case of so many things that feel like they need doing at once that it's overwhelming. Hello laundry!

Or you pick the easiest and quickest one that feels great to tick off your list but makes no real impact but then it's time for dinner and oh hey there netflix.

It's SO easy to waste a lot of times on ineffective tasks (anything to just be doing SOMETHING) or stuck in decision loops about the best thing to do next.

Both are fast tracks to self-doubt, anxiety and fatigue.

What do you think happens when your relationship with your business is back on track?

When you’re communicating instead of in conflict, receptive instead of resentful, relaxed and creative instead of stressed and blocked… your business evolves at a different pace.

Carina and I are presenting a class on creating an amazing relationship with your business so it can support and love you right back.

It's called CHEMISTRY. Link in the comments
