🎥 A New Generation of european filmmakers steps into the international spotlight
🎬 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival returns July 3–11 for its 60th edition, celebrating outstanding cinema from Europe and beyond.
🇪🇺 This year’s festival continues its tradition of spotlighting bold European voices, with a strong selection of new films from across the continent, bringing together established filmmakers, emerging talent, and stories that reflect the diversity of today’s European cinema.

🇧🇪🎞️ 'Kichka: Telling Myself' (Belgium) — an intimate portrait of renowned cartoonist Michel Kichka, blending personal history with artistic expression. Michel Kichka and Director Gadi Aisen in attendance!
🇫🇷🎞️ 'Mariana’s Room' (France) — An elegant adaptation of Aharon Appelfeld’s award-winning 2006 novel Blooms of Darkness set in WW2 Ukraine about a twelve-year-old boy taken in by a beautiful s*x worker at a brothel.

🇩🇪🎞️ 'Rosenthal' (Germany) — This drama follows game-show host and Holocaust survivor Hans Rosenthal, who must choose between hosting a live broadcast or attending Germany’s first Kristallnacht memorial.

🇷🇴 From Romania’s Cristian Mungiu taking the Palme d’Or for 'Fjord', to Russia’s Andrey Zvyagintsev winning the Grand Prix for 'Minotaur', and 🇩🇪 Germany’s Valeska Grisebach earning the Jury Prize for 'The Dreamed Adventure' reinforcing Europe’s enduring influence on global filmmaking.

🎬 Add in a joint Best Director Prize win for 🇪🇸 Spain's 'La Bola Negra' and 🇵🇱 Poland's 'Fatherland' as well as 🇫🇷 France's 'Notre Salut' for Best Screenplay and 🇧🇪 Belgium’s 'Coward', this year’s Cannes became a powerful showcase of Europe’s creative force in cinema.

🏆🇪🇺 Last month, THE LOVE THAT REMAINS, directed by Hlynur Pálmason, received the Latin American Critics’ Award for European Films!
🎥 Presented at the the FICG Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara, the award — now in its third edition — celebrates outstanding European cinema and its resonance with Latin American audiences.

🇪🇺 European Film Promotion has unveiled this year’s 'Producers on the Move' featuring 20 emerging producers from across Europe spotlighting the next wave of global cinema.
🌍 Representing 20 countries, they’ll connect, collaborate, and pitch new projects at the festival.

🇳🇴 Norway secured its first-ever Academy Award with SENTIMENTAL VALUE winning Best International Feature in a historic breakthrough.
🇮🇪 Ireland celebrated a major milestone as Jessie Buckley took home Best Actress, becoming the first Irish woman to win in that category (perfect timing for St. Patrick’s Day ☘️😉).
🎬 European storytelling also shined in documentary, with a European co-production winning Best Documentary Feature.
