Yesterday’s bread might have a rather lovely breakfast ahead of it.

Slightly dry bread works well for French toast. Add some fruit and your usual breakfast suddenly feels like a little occasion.

We’re talking slightly dry bread here, of course. Mouldy bread belongs in the bin.

I've learned a few things in the kitchen over the years...

And some of them I've learned the easy way.

Well... let's just say the smoke alarm has been involved. 😂

Baking doesn't always go according to plan, but that's alright. You learn, you laugh, and you try again.

That's half the fun of cooking, isn't it?

Here's one of those little baking things I didn't always think about... 🥚

When a recipe says room-temperature eggs, there's actually a reason for it.

They mix more easily with your other ingredients and can help create a smoother, more even batter.

Now, does that mean you need to panic if you've forgotten to take your eggs out?

Absolutely not! 😂

Just pop them in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes and you're back in business.

I love these little tricks that make baking a bit easier.

And if you're anything like me, sometimes the best kitchen tips are the ones someone tells you before you make the mistake yourself! 😉
I also have a tip for freezing eggs, which I did not know about until recently. That post is going out in my newsletters, so on that note......

If someone asked me years from now what I hope people remember about Roslyn's Kitchen, my answer would be simple.

I hope they remember that I made cooking feel less intimidating and more fun.
