‘The Last Goodbye', received the “Best Film of the Festival” award during the Couch Film Festival.
It was a project written and directed by Humber Film alumnus Gordon Yarley (). The film was made during his last year in the Film and Television Production advanced diploma program where they worked with a virtual production wall at the William F White TechLab.
"I wanted to make a film that made people feel deep emotion and make use of technology to help heighten the story," says Yarley. "I am incredibly proud of this film and all the hard work done by everyone who worked on it. I look forward to writing and directing more in the future."
Congratulations to the team on this great achievement! Get to know the crew and what they have been up to through their Instagram - .

The last featured film, directed and written by Farhan Rashid (.rashidd), from the Film and Television Production Advanced Diploma program.
What is the best way to express emotions? By singing it out loud! WE’VE NEVER MET is a musical film about love, friendship and self-discovery. I guess we’ll see you at prom.
“As the creator of this film, I was inspired by the complexities of human relationships and the transformative power of connection. Through 'We've Never Met,' I wanted to explore themes of friendship, love, and self-discovery in a relatable and authentic way. By delving into the lives of Annalisa, Gio, and Deacon, I aimed to capture the universal experiences of longing, heartache, and ultimately, finding hope and happiness in unexpected places. This story is a reflection of my belief in the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of seizing moments of connection and understanding in a world often filled with uncertainty and chaos. I hope that audiences will be moved by the characters' journey and find resonance in their own lives.”

Sending this week off to the weekend is our featured TV series, directed and written by Shima Majdpour (), from the Film and Television Production Advanced Diploma program.
It’s going to be fun they said. It’s going to be easy they said. TRIAL BY 20s is a tale of a woman going through young adulthood. Welcome to your 20s!
“As the writer and director of this project, and a 28-year-old woman, my mission with TRIAL BY 20s was to portray the balancing act of young adulthood through the lens of comedy," explains Majdpour. "Mona, our protagonist, retells the night of her 25th birthday when she unwittingly embarks on a night of absurdity, propelled by a white lie concocted by her friends, all to impress a crush.
"The theme of balancing romantic pursuits with personal growth is central to the pilot episode. Drawing from my own experiences and friends, I aimed to infuse authenticity and relatability into the project, offering viewers a mirror to reflect upon the desires that may scare them in young adulthood.
"I hope to inspire viewers to embrace their fears, pursue their passions, laugh at themselves, and embark on their journey toward self-discovery and fulfillment with curiosity and gratitude, rather than fear associated with the outcome.”
