Kanadan Sanomat published a wonderful article about our 65th Anniversary Gala titled “Toronton Suomi-koulun juhlagaala kokosi sukupolvet yhteen” — “Toronto Finnish School’s Anniversary Gala Brought Generations Together.” The article beautifully captures the spirit of the evening, our community, and the many generations who have contributed to the school’s story.

Additionally, there are plenty of fantastic photos from the celebration! 📸

A heartfelt thank you to Kanadan Sanomat for sharing our story and for your close partnership. 💙

Hyvää kanteleen päivää! Happy Kantele Day! 🇫🇮🎶
Today we celebrate the beautiful kantele, Finland’s national instrument! 💙

We are looking forward to continuing our kantele lessons for children next week. We’re also excited to announce something new: Kantele lessons for adults!

The adult group will have monthly sessions at 10.30 am on Saturdays at the Agricola Lutheran Church. In this group, you can learn the basics, explore the beautiful sound of the kantele, and enjoy making music together. No previous experience is necessary, and we provide instruments.

Kantele lessons are taught by members of the Agricola Kantele Players, continuing a wonderful long-standing partnership between the group, Agricola Lutheran Church, and Toronto Finnish School.

As sessions are at the same time as Finnish School Saturday Clubs for the kids, it is also a great chance to meet other community members, have coffee together, visit the library and school shop, and join in other activities the Finnish School has to offer.

Email info@suomikoulutoronto, if you are interested or have questions. 🎶🇫🇮
