Want to know the BEST style of training to strictly target fat loss?
When it comes to getting lean and losing fat you need to work with the hormones that release stored body fat. It's not just calories in and calories out that burn fat.
Circuit training/HIIT is the best type of exercise for targeting stubborn body fat. It's fast, it's intense, but it works and in a short amount of time!
HIIT stimulates catecholamines which in turn dumps fatty acids into your bloodstream to be used as fuel. AKA- burning fat...
BUT the majority of people don't truly understand the level of intensity needed during HIIT to stimulate these hormones. YOU GOTTA PUSH YOURSELF!!
Try this circuit:
Jump squats, jump lunges, mountain climbers, and burpees.
Do 12 reps of each, back to back, rest 2 mins and repeat for 4 rounds total
Or if you enjoy simplicity like me, hop on the stationary bike and do 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off until you’ve done 4 min. Remember that the 20 seconds are supposed to be the most intense 20 seconds of your life and the 10-second rest is an active rest (you are still paddling)
This is a great way to get an effective fat burning with no equipment needed. Great to use at home, while you’re traveling or on vacation.

"You can't out-train a bad diet."
This is a statement you hear all the time when reading about fitness.
It IS true, but there's something important to remember.🙇🏼♀️
Even if your diet is "bad" for whatever reason, you will still benefit from going to the gym.
When I was struggling with binging, for months, I would try SO hard to get back on track with nutrition, and I couldn't get myself to do it.
I kept falling off track, and I was continuously gaining body fat.
This was frustrating and discouraging, but throughout this time, I still kept going to the gym.😤
I am SO grateful I did this because if I didn't, I wouldn't be where I am today.
Since I continued lifting and working out, I was still building muscle. It didn't really show because of all the extra body fat, but I was technically making progress for future me!
When I finally DID gain control of my binging habits and leaned out, I already had the muscle built up.
This gave me a nice "toned" and defined look. Not only that, but it helped with my metabolism as well (building muscle increases metabolism).
👉 When I really think about it, saying "you can't out-train a bad diet" almost implies that the only point in working out is to look good.
While I do like the aesthetic benefits (who doesn't), I mainly look at working out as something I do to strengthen my mind, body, and relieve stress. 💆♀️
The appearance changes are just a nice bonus, and I know I'm not alone in saying that there's so much more to this lifestyle than that.
Look at the gym as something you do to relieve stress, feel like a badass, and get in some "you" time.

Does this sound like you?
You want to start a fitness routine

This is the most unsexy weight loss advice ever.
And it comes from an unexpected place…
Behavioral economics.
But…
As unsexy (and unappealing) as this insight you’ll discover may be… it’s seriously effective.
I heard about this from Dean Karlan.
He’s a professor of Behavioral Economics at Yale who needed to lose weight.
He was so immersed in his studies, his health got sidetracked.
And like most people…
Just telling himself he needed to lose the weight didn’t work.
So what did he do?
He applied his knowledge of economic incentives.
He offered to pay his friend half his annual salary if he failed to lose weight.
And his friend made the same offer.
What happened?
They both reached their weight loss goals.
All because they were SERIOUSLY committed.
Meaning they didn’t just “say” they were committed...
They followed through on the adage, “Put your money where your mouth is.”
They were willing to put over $10,000 on the line because they knew their health was that important.
After all… if you lose your health, does anything else you have, including money, even matter?
But this approach, by design, is NOT sexy, fun, or appealing.
And that’s EXACTLY what makes it so powerful.
It’s all about a negative incentive.
Lose weight... or lose money.
But here’s the thing…
It works.
The good news is…
There’s another way to tap into your psychology of incentives with only the upside.
Think about this…
If someone gets something for free, they don’t tend to value it or use it.
But if someone invests tens of thousands of dollars into something like a car, they tend to take care of it.
We as humans don’t want our investments to go to waste.
And this is a secret reason why my clients get such great results.

If you have followed me for a while, you know the one question that people ask me all the time

Today, I invite you to "sharpen your ax" by looking back at 2021…
And asking yourself these three questions to make 2022 even more successful
1. What worked?
What worked this last year for your health and fitness?
"Worked" doesn't just mean hitting a target weight or exercising X # of hours
Of course, it's great to celebrate those victories too
This question though is about looking at what worked in your STRATEGIES
For instance, I discovered a great chicken strip recipe that only takes me less than 8 minutes to make in an air fryer. I can use this recipe again and again in 2022 whenever I’m in a hurry
So take some time to assess all the processes that worked for you in 2021 to carry forward into 2022
2. What didn't work? (and why?)
It's funny how often humans can keep making the same mistakes without taking a moment to analyze how & what they're doing isn't working
You might find some approaches just aren't effective for your situation.
Or that you need to modify some strategies to get them to work for you
For instance, maybe calorie counting "didn't work." However, you know it works for others
So also consider...
How can you get feedback on WHY a particular strategy didn't work for you to make the necessary adjustments?
3. What can you do differently?
If you’re happy with the results you got in 2021, then you may just keep doing that.
If, however, you’d like to make this year even better, consider what you’re going to do differently
If you’re not sure what to do differently, then I have something you may dig

“Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.” - Warren Buffet
What’s more expensive…
A $50 pair of shoes…
Or a $500 pair of shoes?
It seems obvious, right?
Well…
It depends on what mindset you have
Those with a “Price Priority” mindset will instantly say, “Of course, the $500 pair of shoes is more expensive!”
Basic math Case closed End of story
But…
There’s another story…
Those with a savvy “Value Priority” mindset may keep digging.
They’ll ask…
“How long will each of these pairs of shoes last?”
“Could I actually lose money treating sore feet and blisters from cheaper shoes?”
“How much is it worth to me... to look and feel absolutely freakin amazing every single day in these shoes?”
Now consider this...
What if the $50 pair needs to be replaced every six months…while the $500 pair lasts for 10 years?
That would make the $50 pair of shoes DOUBLE the cost of the $500 pair of shoes over the long haul
That difference in thinking is what separates “Price Shoppers” from “Value Shoppers”
Now sure, maybe the $500 shoes really are more expensive and someone’s just paying for a name brand
But then again, more often than not, you really do get what you pay for
This is why even though there’s more free and cheap information out there than ever before on how to get into great shape…
There are also MORE out of shape people than ever before who are struggling to find solutions
The most expensive investment you’ll ever make is in something free or cheap... that doesn’t deliver results
Because you waste something more valuable than money with those programs…
Your TIME
And you’ll NEVER get your time back
Time that you could have spent making more money than what you “saved”
Time that you could have used to take a vacation and create memories that fill you with bliss whenever you think of them
Time that you’ll wish you would have saved when you look back on your life and say...
“If only I could have spent more time with my kids, holding them in my arms, and showing them how important they are to me”
If you want free/cheap, even if it’s potentially ineffective…
Then you’re a “Price Shopper”
Nothing wrong with that
Maybe you’re one of the few who’s found something cheap that works for you
If you’re happy with your results, by all means, you’re free to do as you please
If however, you know you’re a Value Shopper…
And you’re willing to invest when you know you’re going to get your money’s worth…

You read that right, you only need to do
4 minutes of cardio!
This is actually the ONLY cardio we make most people do
It sounds ridiculous
But once we break it down, you will probably 4 min too
So, how much cardio should you do?
A lot of people are banging out 30-minute cardio sessions.
They’re doing steady-state cardio
They’re doing high-intensity interval training sessions
Well, guess what?
When you’re working out and pushing yourself
When you’re doing calisthenics, bodyweight stuff at home.
Your heart is beating faster
You’re panting like you’re out of breath
That’s cardio
A lot of trainers are going to tell you that you need to do 30 minutes of Steady-State or more
or even HIIT cardio sessions
On top of lifting weights or the calisthenics that you already did
The reason they prescribe these sessions comes down to a lack of knowledge about one thing
It’s NUTRITION.
You can’t outrun a bad diet, and most trainers don’t have the background or knowledge, nor do they have the legal authority to make nutritional recommendations to clients
(Trust me, I was one for years)
They’re telling you to do extra cardio to get to your goal quicker.
They’re giving you a band-aid for a gushing wound that needs immediate attention.
Now, how can four minutes possibly be enough cardio?
Aren’t you going to tell me that I need to work out longer?
Not at all!
There’s something called an EPOC window
This is your “Post Exercise Oxygen Consumption”
This is also known as the “Afterburn Effect”
This is where the magic of the 4 min lies within
The 4 min is intended to push you beyond your 100% capability for a short period of time
The gasping for air, nausea, inability to walk downstairs afterward, and feeling like you’ve been hit by a truck is all part of this process after this 4 min session is complete
The beautiful part about the Afterburn Effect is that you are chilling at home
And burning through fat by simply doing nothing
This effect typically lasts for about 72 hrs, and then you should do another session.
If you are okay doing endless amounts of cardio on a treadmill
Like a hamster on the wheel not going anywhere
Then go ahead and do that
But if you are one of the few people ready to change their monotonous routine

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re probably working from home due to the pandemic and its restrictions.
You also have a pretty intense job, and you’re putting in some long hours.
At the end of the day, you’re ordering more takeout than you’d like to admit.
Chicken chow mein maybe or pizza?
Pizza is my go-to meal.
But Here’s the thing.
If you do nothing about your weight loss now, you’ll inevitably end up with some sort of health condition and your doctor yelling in your ear.
They’ll tell you to lose weight, and you’ll probably try for about a week or two.
But nothing happens, and there are no visible changes, so why keep going, right?
So you stop trying because all the diets always fail, and the workouts, well, they’re so damn hard you’re out of breath just after the warm-up.
After a short while, they’ll put you on some medications to lower your cholesterol.
They’ll give you something to help you sleep.
But, they won’t give you the one prescription you need right now.
It’s a prescription that has helped hundreds of my clients lose fat and keep it off forever.
It’s taking what you’re eating now and learning how to incorporate it in a way that still gets you results.
And if you don’t believe me, I don’t blame you.
