Dyslexia Is Not the Same for Every Student
Two students with dyslexia may struggle with reading for different underlying reasons, even if their reading level looks similar.
2. Phonological Difficulties Are Common — but Not the Only Issue If a student isn’t making expected progress with phonics alone, it doesn’t mean the instruction is wrong — the student may need additional visual or orthographic supports.
3. Dyslexia Exists on a Continuum
Avoid assuming all dyslexic students need the same strategies or will respond the same way to instruction.
