You’ll often find me stressing the importance of having the fathers involved for pregnancy, labour, birth, and postpartum.
💡Did you know that fathers can have traumatic experiences from birth and they too, can fall into postpartum depression/anxiety?
Their involvement is so important and I cannot stress that enough. If you know a new dad or your husband is going to be one soon, what are some tips you’d give him?

Everyone is so excited to meet your baby! Everyone is preparing for the baby to arrive, in good health inshaAllah!
But what about mom? Mom was also born again! Her body went through amazing changes within those 10 months. She birthed her baby and is caring for a new human and her new self. Mom needs care too, let’s not forget about her. A well taken care of mom will have more energy and be overall happier.
Make sure you’re investing in yourself. You deserve the care just as much as your baby does

Did you use/plan to use an exercise ball for your pregnancy?
Some things to keep in mind when using one:
•Make sure your knees are at a 90° angle and your hips are not below/above your knees
•Ensure it’s inflated properly. Not too hard or too soft!
•Anti-Slip is a must! The ball shouldn’t be smooth and should have texture

Look. I understand why some care providers might be concerned for their patients, but if there isn’t anything to worry about, why are you instilling the fear??
Allah tells us in the Quraan of when Maryam gave birth to the Eesa under a palm tree, she heard a voice telling her, "Do not grieve. Your Lord has placed a small stream at your feet. Shake the trunk of the palm toward you, and fresh, ripe dates will drop down to you. Eat and drink, and delight your eyes." These sweet treats hold a deep wisdom and health benefits worth exploring.

•The women who consumed date fruit had significantly higher cervical dilatation upon admission compared with the non-date fruit consumers- 3.5 cm vs 2cm.

•The date eaters had significantly higher proportion of intact membranes upon admission (83% vs 60%).

•Spontaneous labour occurred in 96% of those who consumed dates, compared with 79% women in the non-date fruit consumers.
