From customer success to AI agents — we’re taking things a step further. 🤖⚡

Our last AI Foundations workshop explored how to use AI to better understand customers and deliver support at the right moment. As one key takeaway put it: “The goal isn’t to automate customer service. It’s to understand customers well enough to intervene at the right moment.”

Whether your thing is **3D printing, CAD, CNC, laser cutting, Arduino, coding, AI/ML, UI/UX, product design** or something else, there’s a place for your skills.

🚨 BIG NEWS: Team TASC is heading to Alberta to test their Mars rover in the badlands! 🇨🇦🪐

The Toronto Autonomous Systems Collective (TASC) is a standout student design team at the Innovation Boost Zone. Bringing together around 80 passionate students across engineering, science, and beyond, TASC designs and builds a brand-new rover from scratch every single year!

Today, TASC’s newly built rover is packing its gear and making its way to Drumheller, Canada’s dinosaur capital, to go head-to-head with top international teams in the Canadian International Rover Challenge!

After making waves as one of the top debut teams last year, they didn’t just tweak their design. They rebuilt their entire rover system from the ground up, taking on a complete hardware development cycle from initial sketches to a rugged, rock-ready chassis 🛠️⚙️

It’s a prime example of how our IBZ design team students are making big moves out in the real world, testing the limits of autonomous systems to see how robotics can support humanity in extreme environments.

AI Foundations workshop series has officially launched! 🔛👏 A big thank you to everyone who joined us last week, and a huge shoutout to Sunny Atwal for leading a stellar first session!

Participants explored the foundations of AI fluency through the 4D framework, used Claude to practice prompt writing, and discovered how generative AI can support everyday business tasks.

🔜 Next up: AI for Customer Acquisition, taking place online on July 29! Sign up now and, in the meantime, join our in-person AI Community Meetups every other Friday at TMU for networking, AI support, and refreshments. Details on time and location are shared with attendees following each session.

Last week, the Master of Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MEIE) program was thrilled to host a talented group of student entrepreneurs from the University of Liechtenstein!

Thank you for spending the day with us at Toronto Metropolitan University. It was an incredible day of sharing advancements, exchanging bold ideas, and building cross-border connections—all culminating in an exciting mini-pitch competition! 🚀

A huge thanks to everyone who joined us for our FIFA Watch Party! ⚽🍁

Whether you know every rule of the game or were there for the atmosphere, it was great spending the afternoon together and cheering on Team Canada.

Every tournament comes with its highs and lows, but one thing’s for sure—we’re proud to see Canada advance to the Round of 16. Thanks for making this such a fun afternoon. We’ll be cheering them on all the way!
