I help parents and children from struggling to complete a well-planned art project to being creative and focused artists through the process of open-ended exploration.

Why should I let my child explore art anyways?⁣

While art exploration offers tremendous benefits in young children’s development, I am not going to mention all the boring terms because you can easily find them on Google. ⁣

Instead, I want to tell you what art did for me in my childhood.⁣

I used to drive my parents crazy with all the magazines cutting & pasting. ⁣

The neverending scraps and recycling, not to mention my poor parents who would come home to their new magazine in broken pieces even before they get a chance to read it.😅🙈⁣

I would spend hours sitting on the ground cutting out colour palettes, large & small texts, coupons, people’s faces, fashion styles, food... then I would organize them in my sketchbook or glue them into collages.⁣

My dad HATED it because I was spending so much time creating what looked like GARBAGE to him but those were definitely one of my favourite moments as a kid.⁣

🙌 My brain was always concentrating ⁣
🙌 My hands & eyes were constantly creating⁣
🙌 I learned about things I admire⁣
🙌 I learned to be confident ⁣
🙌 Most importantly, I learned about the world through a sense of wonder and imagination that no picture books nor plastic toys could have offered ⁣

Art ( creative free play) was the most magical experience I had growing up. ⁣

Take out some art supplies today. ⁣
Let your child make a mess.⁣
Step back and watch them thrive in their own creative space.⁣

Making a step-by-step art project with your toddler DOES NOT mean they are expressing creativity ⁣

One of the most common misconceptions about art making is that step-by-step projects are the best for young children.⁣

I understand why most parents would think this way because these steps are easy for us adults to follow (so we can do it with our young kids). ⁣

Unfortunately step-by-step projects are exactly what toddlers don’t NEED. ⁣

In fact, it may even leave them overwhelmed, resistant and confused with expressing their creativity. ⁣

Instead, what you need to prioritize is to support your child’s current interests and developmental needs. ⁣

To set your child up for success, you need to follow his/ her lead within a prepared environment for free exploration. This will save you time and money from all the guessing work, and ultimately raise an independent child in the long run.⁣

It’s time to adopt to an open-ended approach and help your child to become an independent, self-motivated and creative learner starting from early on.

One of my goals this year is to inspire parents around the world to enjoy art exploration with their toddlers. I have been doing that since March, and I am having SO MUCH FUN! ⁣

In order to continuously grow a thriving community and live my mission to bring art to every toddler’s home, I’m constantly pushing myself to implement more inspiring and educational ideas. This is why I’m excited to let you know my membership program is reopening in just a few days. If you want to learn to make art with your toddler then you definitely don’t want to miss this opportunity . Send me a DM to get on the waitlist! ⁣

Hello to all the new faces I’m seeing around here! My name is Cassidy Tsang ( pronounced “sang” with a silent T not “T-sang” although that’s pretty funny 😅)⁣

I’m an art educator from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 and I teach parents to explore art with their toddlers without stressing about preparation, materials and mess everywhere.⁣

I love to explore fun and unconventional ways to play with art materials like throwing paint. Patience (with kids, not so much my husband😅) is my super power and I am allergic to cocoa 🤯⁣

Although running an art education business has its own challenge, using art to empower young children is what I truly LOVE to do so I would never trade it for the world. ⁣
